The Robinson Easements

The Robinson Easements

In December of 2007 and again in December of 2009, the Warren Land Trust received separate easements on a large and spectacular property owned by David C Robinson on North Shore Road, immediately adjacent to Lake Waramaug. The easements, the first of 8.19 acres and the second of 5.0 acres are in direct proximity to the shore of the largest natural lake in Connecticut. Waramaug has been designated a Heritage Lake and is considered one of the critical treasures in the federally designated Highlands Region of the Northeast.

The protected property runs along the lake's northern shore, with prominent views of the entire lake. Its position on the hill overlooking the lake makes it visible from most roads that surround the lake. The first parcel is lightly wooded with some open field areas and the second is cow pasture with many large stones, but it is the views both of and from the parcels and the partial protection of an already overcrowded lake shore that make this easement particularly valuable.
