Public Access Policy Adopted

The Warren Land Trust has adopted a public access policy for the seven properties owned by the Land Trust. This policy does not apply to properties on which the Land Trust holds conservation easements, but are owned by the private land owners. The Melius Preserve does NOT allow public access.

The Land Trust's own properties consist of more than 215 acres of land, including:

Dorothy Maier Preserve on Sackett Hill Road

Douglas Preserve north of the new Warren Town Hall

Sunset Pond on Cunningham Road

Cashion Preserve on Route 45

Eel Pond Preserve on Route 341

Skidmore Preserve on Milton Road

Coords Preserve off Angevine Road

In an effort to balance public benefit and safety concerns with the preservation of the natural resources on Land Trust properties, these uses are permitted:

• Hiking and walking
• Cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing
• Fishing
• Horseback riding in groups not to exceed four (4) horses
• Scientific and educational studies, with written consent of Land Trust
• Recreational uses not prohibited below, with written consent of Land Trust
• Agricultural uses, with written consent of Land Trust

Uses that are NOT ALLOWED on Land Trust properties are hunting, logging, removal or destruction of trees and plants, camping, fires, operation of mountain bikes, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and snow-mobiles and any other uses harmful to the natural resources located on the Land Trust properties.
