The Cashion Preserve

In February of 1994 the Warren Land Trust received from Robert and Barbara Cashion a 7.362 acre gift of a piece of property that sat at the intersection of Route #45 and Windy Ridge Rd.
The Cashions originally approached the Nature Conservancy about the feasibility of a gift but Carolie Evans, the Nature Conservancy Director of Land Protection contacted Warren Land Trust director David Miles and suggested that he take the land on behalf of the Warren Land Trust. Shortly thereafter, then president Dorothy Maier and Kym Crouse arranged for the transfer of the land, which also borders Reverie Lane.
The cooperation of the Nature Conservancy was probably the result of the Warren Land Trust having taken a parcel known as the Douglas Preserve from them a few years previously.
The Cashion Preserve protects a viable piece of forested land. It is a functioning wildlife area, a mixture of hardwoods and sections of wetland. It is a quiet woodland area directly adjacent to a main north/south thoroughfare.
