Rebecca Neary, President
Rebecca Neary and her family have spent weekends and summers in Warren for over a decade. She, her husband Jim, daughter Kira and son Will love the town's peace and quiet, and its woods, meadows, and farmland. Originally from North Andover, Massachusetts, Ms. Neary is a graduate of Tufts University with a Master's and PhD in Russian History. She has studied and lived in Russia, and taught Russian History at Drew University. She has long and diverse experience working with non-profit organizations. She enjoys running, hiking, biking, kayaking, and reading in the hammock. Rebecca has been WLT President since 2014, and serves on the Governance & Nominating and Outreach & Development Committees.
Ted Morse, Vice President
Ted Morse served as President of the Warren Land Trust from 2009 to 2014. He is a graduate of Middlebury College and Tufts University majoring in American History and Asian Studies. He has been Department Head of History at the Kent School, Scarsdale, New York and Dean and Headmaster at the Antilles School in St. Thomas, USVI. He and his wife Nancy moved to Warren in 2007. They have four children and three grandchildren and still are involved with golf, skiing and mountain climbing. Ted is now the WLT's Vice President and serves as chair of the Governance & Nominating committee.
Barbara Page, Treasurer
Barbara Page is the Treasurer of the Warren Land Trust and has served on the Board of Directors since 2005. Ms. Page and her family have spent summers, weekends, and holidays in Warren since 2000. Her family includes her husband, John Liu, and her children Audrey, Claudia, and Nelson. She enjoys hiking, tennis, restaurants, outdoor music, gardening, and family time on their secluded property. During the week, they reside in New York City. Ms. Page earned her BA from the University of Illinois and her MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Barbara also serves on the WLT's Outreach & Development and Finance committees.
Nancy Adams Morse, Secretary
Nancy Adams Morse has lived most of her life in Connecticut. In 2007, after ten years of working in the U.S. Virgin Islands, she and her husband Ted retired to Warren, where she enjoys choral singing, gardening, and many outdoor activities. They have four children and three grandchildren. After three years as a music teacher, Nancy worked as a computer programmer for over twenty years. She has volunteered for a variety of nonprofit organizations throughout her life and has been an officer of a number of them; she is currently Secretary of the Warren Land Trust. Nancy also serves on the Outreach & Development and Governance & Nominating committees.
Tim Angevine, Director
Timothy Angevine grew up on the family farm in Warren, and is the fifth generation on the land. While spending four years in Maine for college he gained an enhanced consciousness for the environment and a relationship with nature that carries over into the management of the farm. Mr. Angevine lives with his wife Carla and grows Christmas trees and pumpkins with the help of ten other family members. Mr. Angevine is working to broaden the connection of the Warren Land Trust with the community, in part through the farm, with the hopes of expanding the community's awareness of WLT's mission. Tim chairs the WLT's Land Acquisition & Stewardship committee and is also a member of the Governance & Nominating committee.
Laura Moore Brown, Director
Laura Moore Brown is an attorney and was formerly an Assistant District Attorney in New York City prosecuting organized crime and corruption. She was also an environmental insurance coverage litigator prior to becoming a criminal prosecutor. In addition to practicing law, Laura worked for several years as a legal commentator for various television networks. Laura, her husband Paul, and their children Ella and Emery have been residents of Warren since April 2007. She is proud to be a part of the Warren Land Trust and to use her advocacy skills and legal experience to help further the mission of the Land Trust to protect the beauty and rural nature of Warren. Laura serves on the WLT's Outreach & Development and Governance & Nominating committees.
Elizabeth (Lissie) Chandler, Director
Elizabeth Chandler's first home in Litchfield County came with an existing conservation easement so she was immediately introduced to the important work of the local land trusts in preserving the natural and rural character of the area. Since then, she and her husband Jay and two daughters Isabelle and Grace moved to Warren and have become deeply grateful for the work being done by the Warren Land Trust for the benefit of the community now, and for many generations to come. Lissie brings to the WLT an extensive background in finance and non-profit board service as well as a love for the outdoors. An avid runner, triathlete, hiker and winter sports enthusiast, it would be difficult to find a better place to enjoy these endeavors than beautiful Lake Waramaug and the roads, trails and hills of Warren, CT. Lissie serves on WLT's Finance and Land Acquisition & Stewardship committees.
Timothy Clew, Director
Tim Clew is the co-founder and co-managing partner of The Wine Trust, a specialized wine investment fund, and has an extensive background in investment banking and management consulting. A former weekend resident, Tim moved to Warren as a full-timer in 2010 with his wife Jaime and their two young children. Of his decision to become more involved with the Land Trust, he says, "My family and I have come to love the rural nature of Warren. Warren is unique, even among surrounding towns, in the extent of its open space, fields and woodlands, and its timeless character. We have both an opportunity and a responsibility to help preserve these special qualities and I hope that I can play a small part in doing so by joining the Land Trust board." Tim serves on the WLT's Outreach & Development and Finance committees.
Bill Mansfield, Director
Bill Mansfield and his family (wife Joanne and children Owen, Bennett, and Alice) have spent nearly every weekend and summer since 1998 in Warren. He and his family have a great fondness for the town, and are passionate about preserving its natural beauty. Bill enjoys the area's rural character when biking, running, hiking, snowshoeing, or just chopping wood and clearing brush on his property. A veteran of the financial services industry, Bill currently is CEO of Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (USA), a subsidiary of MUFG, one of the largest global banks. He serves on the WLT's Land Acquisition & Stewardship and Finance committees.
Dave Schneiderbeck, Director
Dave Schneiderbeck was raised in New Fairfield, CT. He is a graduate of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute and owner of Rizzo's Garage in Sherman, CT. He serves on the board of Four Directions Journeys, a nonprofit outdoor experiential school. He is also a Wilderness Leadership instructor at Great Hollow Wilderness School, a NOLS alumni of the Baja sea kayaking course, an Outward Bound graduate, and a Medical Response technician. Dave is a board member of Warren Parks and Recreation and a former board member of the Naromi Land Trust in Sherman. He has also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in New Zealand. He, his wife Amy and his two sons have been residents of Warren since 2011. He serves on the WLT's Land Acquisition & Stewardship and Outreach & Development Committees.
Roberta (BK) Stafford, Director
Roberta (BK) Stafford and her husband Peary are longtime Warren residents. BK works as a financial advisor at Wellington Shields & Co., and is using her skills in that area to benefit our Finance Committee. BK is an avid outdoorswoman as well - a seasoned hiker with special interest in and knowledge about birds and butterflies - so is also an asset to our Land Acquisition and Stewardship Committee. Outside of work and the outdoors, BK enjoys art, tennis, and cooking. BK serves on the WLT's Land Acquisition & Stewardship and Finance committees.
Waltraud Tammen, Director
Waltraud Tammen moved to Warren in 2008 with her husband Hermann, after coming to the area on weekends for over 20 years. While living in New York City she worked in International Private Banking, as the director of an educational non-profit organization, and as a high school librarian. Waltraud enjoys the beautiful surroundings of the Litchfield Hills, takes advantage of social and cultural happenings and is actively involved in the community, organizing classical music concerts as a Board Member of Washington Friends of Music. She is pleased to contribute her experience to networking, communication and fundraising as chair of the WLT's Outreach & Development committee and serving on the Governance & Nominating committee.
Craig Nelson, Ex Officio
Craig Nelson is an ex-officio member of the Board and is currently the First Selectman of Warren. Until the election he was a member of the WLT Board. A keen amateur archeologist, local historian, conservationist, former Chairman of the Warren Conservation and Wetlands Commission, and a native of Warren, Craig understands every nuance of the Warren area. He brings keen judgment, opinions and experience to the Land Trust and the Historical Society.
